"Created by Barrie Tozer".

Tells me all I need to know. Another pointless 'world changing' attempt by him that will as usual come to nothing. That is of course assuming that he doesn't change his mind in the meantime and scrap it, you know, like he did the last time he decided to have a petition against the DCPC.

100,000 signatures required? I'd be amazed if it reaches 500.

In the past I might have agreed with you but this has been discussed and sanctioned by a committee of very experienced drivers

Unlike many, what I considered to be, way out there with no chance of succeeding campaigns in the past, I think this at least has a chance albeit a small one

Besides that, what does it matter WHO started a petition???!!! - either the petition is considered to have a chance or it does not when considering to sign it or not

The EU made a DIRECTIVE which by law the UK Govt MUST impliment

As long as the DIRECTIVE is adhered to then the UK Govt can IMPLIMENT it as they see fit

Everyone knows the UK Govt cannot scrap it - that would take many EU states working together - or we get out of the EU !!

It is HOW the UK Govt has implimented it which the e-petition is about because that can be changed

=====================================================

One example of how the UK Govt can do things is the WTD or RTWTD for drivers

The EU made a DIRECTIVE so the UK Govt put it into UK law and made VOSA responsible for overseeing the RTWTD

So - law made and directive covered BUT the canny UK Govt knew that to actually police it they would need to booster VOSAs numbers by 100s or even 1000s and that cost too much so what did the UK Govt do ...... they decided not to make VOSA police it and not to put any sanctions for RTWTD breaches.

The RTWTD has been in force for over 5 years and nothing legal has happened to any driver or company

=======================================================

EU REGULATION is different because that is LAW - one example if the driver hours REGULATION EU561/2006

Who are these self appointed experienced drivers and just what does this petition actually want to achieve? It doesn't seem to want the CPC scrapped and TBH the content of the CPC covers quite a broad spectrum and can be manipulated to what the trainers want to do. Our company run our own training for this and there seems to be quite a difference in content that I've done to what my mate has done in a different company. The petition is pretty vague and certainly wont get my signature.

It's not been "sanctioned" by any such people at all. The only person "sanctioning" it is Tozer himself and his henchmen just nod their heads and agree with whatever he says to keep the peace. I know for certain that one member of the "committee" doesn't agree with Tozer's change proposals but is keeping quiet as he can't be doing with the hassle it'll cause. Just like the last time when Tozer tried to change the world, it'll all fall flat on its face again.

I can neither agree or disagree with that because I do not personally know those involved nor do I know what their personal views are

Perhaps you could confirm that you have that info?
