Our Ka + (5 door 2017 Ka) failed its MOT because the headlight adjuster didn't move the headlight reflectors . I tried another switch (as both weren't moving it seemed a 'good bet', but alas that didn't work. It was the cheapest/easiest option for DIY. So I removed the bumper and headlight unit from one side (impossible to remove the motor part or its 3 wire connector in situ). Using a multimeter and an assistant I found the up/down voltages varied as expected. With the motor removed from the headlight and connected to the wiring.... no movement. However, if I manually moved the gearing it was possible to then move it one way but not the other. I can only conclude the limit switching isn't working correctly. New motors are being sourced.
Can someone confirm if the following plan is correct?
1. Attach new motor(s) to connectors and adjust levelling switch to position 4 (ball-end fully extended to enable easy fitment to rear of headlamp reflector)
2. Adjust levelling switch to 0 (headlight reflector putting beam in highest position = no passengers on board)
3. Leaving switch in position 0, make manual adjustment to align beam correctly.
4. The 'system' will now be correct for MOT purposes and safety

Thanks in anticipation.
