Suspected BSI fault on Citroen C3. No side front side lights
Discussion
I have a 2012 C3 and I do all my own mechanics. I did a thermostat last week and since then I have no front sidelights . I disconnected the battery for the thermostat and re connected to find all lights and functions work but for the front side lights only . rear ones work . With my Icarsoft scanner I can see the column switch is calling for the lights , there is no or minimal voltage at the lights. I have searched the internet and done various methods of BSI reboots etc , but still no sidelights. I can see a fault in the BSI on the scanner , it thinks the nearside bulb has blown but Its not that all new bulbs and connections checked , its low or no voltage at the plugs. The sidelights do not go through a fuse , the rears are working . I have cleared all codes . We have had this car from new and I have replaced the battery a couple of times , seems I reconnected this time and sent the BSI all unnecessary . There are no wiring changes for a thermostat and of course I have been back over my work.
I think I am near the end of BSI resets without success. I have four weeks till the MOT and this car is a great family workhorse .
I want to set up a separate power supply with switch to the front side lights so , I can turn them on in the car . There are a few such set ups on Ebay with a relay and switch aimed at additional lights.
My two questions are , any good recommendations for that type of little harness with relays and fuse etc ? Second question is are there any with a remote switch so I don't have to wire through the bulkhead ?
Also any other suggestions , maybe constant on side lights, a bit like DRL'S ?
Thanks for reading this far .
