Parking sensor add to car?
Discussion
Hi all
I would like some advice please.
I would like to add a parking sensor to my Dacia Sandero?
Is this possible?
Do I need to goto a Dacia Sandero Garage specifically as this is the car I have?
Will it affect my warranty?
Where's best place to get one added?
Does a sensor alert you to any small street furniture like 1 foot high etc all around the car?
What's the best type of sensor would you go for? One with a camera or screen or just noise alerts?
Thanks all

I've not tried those Facebook ads you see posting in groups, offering them for £100 but it might be an idea. Depends if you want some stranger turning up at your door with a drill ready to hack your car bumper.
You could go to a maindealer but I bet it won't be cheap.
You could also try one of those Fresnel lenses (no, not the person who locked his daughter in a basement in Austria!).

Anything is possible, if you don't want it to affect your warranty, then you can basically ONLY get it done at your local Dacia dealer assuming it is a manufacturer's warranty. Is this possible?

It isn't one, there are normally 4/5 spread along the bumper.

If the "street furniture" is within the (normally around 120 degree) field of view of the sensor, then yes, although because each one has a defined field of view it is possible that there could be gaps in the coverage.cartyre said:

A sensor is a sensor, a camera is another thing, they are completely separate entities. It's certainly possible.
How easy it is will depend on how good you want the finished result to be - you could do anything from drilling some holes in the bumper yourself and DIY fitting a £10 kit from aliexpress to paying a garage to retrofit the full OEM setup, which would requite a new bumper, or pretty much anything in between.
It should only affect the warranty if they can reasonably argue that it caused the problem you're claiming for. However, messing with the electrical system would probably give them a reasonable argument to refuse to pay out for any electrical fault.
