Discovery Sport Battery
Discussion
Hi all,
We have a 2020 Discovery Sport which has a couple of minor electrical gremlins. Googling suggests it could be the battery so I tested the one fitted and it does read slightly below the recommended amps, both running and off.
So I have bought a new battery but changing it looks a right faff in terms of having to remove a strut brace and stuff.
If I disconnect the old battery and then use some jump leads to connect the new battery to the battery terminal cables will this let me see if things are fixed or will there be to much loss through the jumper cables?

Were you doing a CCA test? That requires a fairly expensive load tester, which you're unlikely to have as a casual DIYer. Doing a CCA test while running would make no sense and might potentially (sic) damage stuff. If it wasn't a load test, I can't guess what test you'd do that measured Amps and told you about the health of the battery.
What did you actually measure? What results did you get?
