Strange groan/creak with steering

Hello

I get a creak/groan from the steering when moving the wheel at lower speeds. It doesn't make it all the time. If it's been raining its not there, or at least too quiet to hear.

I've had it at a couple of places who don't seem to know. I've had my brake caliper replaced and then ot vanished for a week but has come back.

Any ideas?

If you can get it to happen while stationary, you should be able to track it down by ear.

PAS pumps and strut top bearings are common sources of steering noises.
