So I swapped the bulbs around & the light from the passenger side worked & the one from the drivers side did not. ok , so I checked the fuse all good. So I bought 2 new bulbs Osram & a new ballast , fitted it all on & still no light on passenger side but it will flicker for a second or 2 then nothing? The self levelling orks ok but if there anything … See more

Is it the exact same part number and is there more than one ballast per headlamp ? Any fault codes stored ?

No its not the exact number on the ballast , I bought it from ebay , gave them the Vin number etc & stupidly I bought the most expensive one thinking it would be better. There is 1 ballast per headlamp unit , no fault codes at all.
someone else said the ballast is incorrect but 1 odd thing, when it was being put back together it worked with the headlamp unit not fixed in car, it did flicker & so tapped it underneath the headlamp & it came back on. Then as its very high voltage turned all light off & refitted it to car ,bumper etc & then just a flicker & off? Someone else has said its the headlamp unit itself ?
So does the headlamp unit have wiring that could be loose which may cause this ?

Can you swap headlights over - I know they won't fit but if the connectors are the same just swap them and see what happens.

OK A/Electrician confirmed e bay ballast as wrong ballast, even though they thought it was correct.

Ballasts have to be exact, or at the very least the suppression. I presume you have the right number ?

Sold to me as correct but number was not the same .although it was listed as suitable for my car. I am getting refunded & the garage is supplying & fitting the ballast.
