The Halogen Bulbs from Osram/Philips etc. that promise 100-200% better Brightness and cost at least £10/piece

The Extra bulb brightness is compared to the Lowest Legally Possible Lightbulbs and not their Own standard Lightbulbs if you go dig deeper and search their website (it's VERY HIDDEN & Frankly The way they market these should be made Illegal , it's straight up Misleading ).

In reality when tested these are around 5-15% brighter than the Average good quality Osram/Philips/Bosch bulb that cost 1.5-2/each.
Also yes, these Do not last as long as the Regular cheap ones!

Want Extra Brightness while still staying legal and for cheap? Just change for a new regular good quality bulb at least once every 2years , they ''wear out'' overtime and become less bright.
You are probably noticing that these appear brighter once you swap to them Simply because your Old bulbs had deteriorated...

I now find for halogen bulbs it’s all about their durability

Fitted some long life ones and they certainly do seem to be lasting longer

I’m trying to fathom how anyone can “wear out overtime”. I suppose doing too much overtime would mean less for others, but over time it would even out.

Don't forget to clean your reflectors and/or projectors when you change bulb, as you'll get a build-up of grime on them which can reduce light output.

...and it's free!!!

The filament sheds and this can coat the inside of the bulb.

Changed to Osram 4000k white bulbs. They make a huge difference to the quality of light that my Fiat Panda originally had.

I also put Phillips white bulbs in my Suzuki SV650S and again, the original yellow bulbs were total crap, in comparison.

On the other hand, I put 150% brighter Halfords bulbs in my Insignia and didn't see much difference.

The magazine tests usually are pretty clear that they do perform better. Maybe not 200% better but certainly are brighter and project further.

A while ago I used to buy these, until they started going pop anywhere from 1 to 6 months and I got fed up with replacing them - especially on cars where you have to strip out the front end. Standard bulbs last years in comparison.
