I've a light on in my 2013 Civic hatch for the airbag, from an iCarsoft OBD2 reader I've pulled the error which is reported as:

'Open in the centre outer lap belt tensioner'

I think I'm being dense, but I'm not entirely sure which bit of which seatbelt has the fault based on this description. Is it the rear centre tensioner or some other seatbelt?

I'm just trying to narrow down where the fault is, unfortunately it failed its MOT so am trying to sort before the retest!

any tips or advise is much appreciated

Many thanks

I had the SRS light appear on my EP3 (long time ago).

I found all the yellow connectors on the wiring loom from the seat belts and airbags, cleaned and reconnected them. No joy. Honda found one in the centre console, below the gear lever, and reconnected it to a good result. Was being charged £50 per half hour for the diagnostics! Of course I took the car to the dealership with the dash panels off so I wasn't charged for that time too.

Trace all the yellow connectors and reseat them. I reckon you have a dirty or loose connector.

Don't know for a fact but would be assuming centre rear belt tensioner.

Could be worth googling a full set of codes for the car to see if that helps narrow it down.

That was a good shout, I listed the seats and pulled the plastics on the drivers side unplugged and replugged all the yellow connectors I could find.

Fingers crossed I'm no longer getting bonged at!

Fingers crossed we can call that a win, well done.
