I've used puttys before but they harden and crumble off. I've read not to go pastes but to go for high temp sealants. Ive seen e.g. rtv high temp silicone sealant which gets used on heads so you do get high temp stuff out there. Jus wondering who's used what

Is this to be applied upstream or downstream of exhaust sensors?

It won't affect exhaust sensors. It's from the cat backwards.
Thanks

Gun gum putty will just crumble off after a couple of days, so do the holts bandages, you could try stove or bbq high heat paint if it's just a weld join leaking. I'm going to try this when I get a chance. The other option if possible is just take a tin can and secure with jubilee clips.

Seconded, I have used this on scores of exhausts, mainly where primaries meet secondaries , these areas get very hot and the sealant is excellent.
