On holiday last week and my Kia Optimas gearbox (Kia/Hyundai 7 speed DCT) decided it didn't like going into even gears and reverse. It's currently on the back of a tow truck on its way to my friends garage.

Research leads me to believe it's more than likely going to be the clutch actuator or gear select actuator.

I was just wondering if anybody might be able to shed any more light on which one it's more likely to be?

The experts who inspect it and diagnose the problem will be able to tell you.

IMO it's a waste of everyone's time trying to guess in advance of that inspection. If a random person on the internet tells you they think it's 60% likely to be a clutch problem and 40% a selector problem, just what do you think you're going to do with that information?

I don't think - without any diagnostics at all - it's possible to speculate unless there's a common fault on that gearbox.

It could also be an electrical fault.
