Hi, advice for additional ‘air con’ please - so have a slightly modded 2008 BMW 330i tourer which I love (and so far managed to keep despite pressure….🤣). Only thing is the air con isn’t quite strong enough for my 2 dogs which usually travel in the folded rear seats on our frequent 3-hour run to Dorset. Been looking at small desk-top type rechargeable evaporative air coolers as a supplement (and to avoid using the other half’s Nissan’s Qashqai zzzzzz). Anyone has experience to share eg whether it’s even remotely effective? Understand it’s never going to be as good as another air con and just as a supplement. Cheers

They’re garbage, don’t bother.

I’d be looking at why the car AC isn’t effective enough, it might need some maintenance e.g. a new dryer and a regas.

Yeah I’d be looking at maintenance on what you already have. It’s the uk not Death Valley, if the ac can’t cope there’s something amiss.

Get a swamp cooler - for no other reason than it looks cool.

Suspect the key reason is that the boot isn't really a primary target for the air conditioning designer. I'd look at mounting some small ducts to the most convenient/closest set of vents to carry cold air back to the dogs, or alternatively some additional fans in front of each one.

What's the rear seat ventilation layout like for one of those? Vents in the back of the centre console and B-pillars? Or just some flat vents under the front seats?
