HI all,

Wonder if anyone has any suggestions for finding a part. The power steering ECU is faulty and I simply cant find a replacement anywhere. Tried brakers local and online, ebay, parts companies and come up with nothing, anyone got any suggestions for me please?

Part number is apparently - 56300 1H950 or 1H563-99000
reg LD10 OHN

I have a photo of the part but not sure if I can add photos here!

Where did you get the part number from?

You really need to be getting it from your part if possible (noting you'll need access to it anyway to swap it out), then that rules out any inaccuracies from catogues and other external references. This is particularly helpful for things like ECUs as the part number will be a reliable search string as the name could well differ (ECU, module, controller etc) and important too given you want an exact match.

Ignore ebay sellers. Stick to the part numbers on yours.

Incidentally, what led to the faulty ECU diagnosis?

I replaced the steering coupling about 6 months ago and more recently the steering power went, had a mobile mechanic out to test and it came up with the steering ecu

Give them a call it's probably not as silly as you think.

You are searching for 7H563, where the part number is 1H563

few results on ebay this was the first

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185953716584?hash=item2...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175784458765?hash=item2...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175792778627?_trkparms=...

A couple are complete assemblies but you can just remove what you need and bin the rest.

Better still put the rest back up on eBay as separate components - could easily end up making a profit overall!

Sorry my typing error, I am searching for 1H563-99000.

Thank you for the links, unfortunately they don't seem any good apart from the first one possibly

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185953716584? - Description: All ECU'S we are selling are removed from vehicles without any programming or resetting. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO INSTALL, RESET OR RE-PROGRAMME IT ON YOUR OWN IF NEEDED.

I cant reprogram and as it is coming from abroad it could be an expensive mistake if it doesnt work.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175784458765? different number - 1H563-99001
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175792778627? different number - 1H563-98000

Yes it *should* work, the part number matches yours, it will not need reprogramming and should be plug and play.

As an update I have fixed the problem by replacing the ECU with a second hand one from ebay. The part numbers were not quite the same but all is working as it should. Thanks for everyone's help :-)
