Cadillac BLS (SAAB) Central Locking fault, any ideas please?
Discussion
Hi
I have just picked up a Cadillac BLS 2009 1.9D and have an issue with the central locking and wonder if anyone had any advice please?
If I go to lock the car with the close button on the fob nothing happens. If I press the open button, the doors all lock and immediately unlock.
At present I am locking the doors manually and have noticed that when I push the drivers door lock down, it does not lock any other doors. However the internal locking button on the drivers door does indeed lock and unlock all of the doors, it just doesnt happen from the fob.
Could it be as simple as a fob battery or more complex?
Anything to help would be appreciated as not left with any money for a (rip off) local garage!

Hi,
Thank you for your advice. I have checked all the cables, the rubber housings are all in place and all wires 'look' okay but I know that doesnt mean they are okay. Think it will have to go to a garage as I cannot access te cable ends etc. Thank you again, I am sure you are right, I just can't find it.
I have noticed that I can lock all doors with the internal switch okay, so am assuming it is a fault with the fob or receiver or similar.
Cheers
Mike

Caddy, SAAB, Vauxhall suffer the same ailments.
Check the wiring to EVERY door and look for broken wires.
All the opening & closing flexes & squeezes the wires & strands start to break.... Pull the rubber protection off and I bet you find a few broken wires.
Strangely the central locking has started working but the alarm goes off after a few hours, so I guess that may narrow it down?Check the wiring to EVERY door and look for broken wires.
