LED headlights help
Discussion
Hello PH.
So recently I bought 55w LED kit,but seller informed me that those are out of stock and send me 80w LED kit (40w per bulb) - https://www.novsights.com/products/h11-h8-h9-headl...
My question is - will this fry/burn my car or I should be OK.
I searched forum for similar threads, but no luck.
Im newbie here, go easy on me 😃 thx a lot

Buy the EC approved ones instead from phillips, osram, ring etc. Dont mess about with out of spec lamps or you could
1. melt the plastics in the headlight housing.
2. Have a poor fitting lamp with a massive weight on the back pulling on it, so every bump on the road it falls out. It's hot and on a long lead so not good.
3. It wont fit at all in your headlight housing, because the LED stalk is too thick, too long, or cooling fan fouls on something.

what sort of headlight unit are you fitting the LED replacements in to?
As fitting them in to units designed for halogen bulbs is illegal, and also an MOT fail.
And most of the cars we see at work with them fitted have no headlight pattern at all. Best option is fitting some quality halogen bulbs from either Philips or Osram, and be amazed at the ease of fitment and how much cheaper they are for the performance benefit over most LED units

Projector headlight. . Surely halogen can't compare to LED when it comes to color and output. Perhaps can you suggest something good.
What car? And what sort of condition are the actual light units themselves in?A lot of the projector units suffer with misting inside, which is OK to sort if the units come apart easily enough to clean
Also, there's a significant improvement with a relay mod. That makes sure the bulb gets full battery/alternator output voltage. And that makes a marked improvement to light output

There are no E approved LED aftermarket bulbs from any manufacturer. Many previous threads on this.1. melt the plastics in the headlight housing.

If you want something MOT legal you have to fit a like for like bulb.

2015 mazda cx5 - Lights in good condition, no misting at all. A lot of the projector units suffer with misting inside, which is OK to sort if the units come apart easily enough to clean

See Im not that in electrical staff, relay is probably something that need some soldering,diy.. ? With leds its plug and play.

This is true, but I have Osram in my TVR and told my garage before the MOT. Now, I don't know if he was just being decent or couldn't be bothered, but he said they gave a good pattern (which he wasn't expecting) so passed them. He could have swapped them out for H4 bulbs quite easily. If you want something MOT legal you have to fit a like for like bulb.
Yes, I know. Technically wrong.

Are you sure they are 40w per lamp?
Personally I think they are 80w each.
seller saying its 80w kit ,40w per ledPersonally I think they are 80w each.
I'm guessing it was 55w each lamp as your existing would probably be 55w halogen?
This is the kit I wanted, and again they stated its 55w kit /22.5w per bulb, which I think is bS too.. as 22.5w haligen bulb will be as bright as candles. I still have 5tw halogen there

That link reads more like they are for the American market (and wouldn't in any case be road legal there either as they are not DOT approved).https://www.novsights.com/products/h11-h8-h9-led-h...
They could well be 22.5W per side POWER DRAW, depending on a lot of factors (beam direction, colour temp, lumens out, operating temp etc) as LEDs are a lot more efficient than halogen.
Your original question was whether they would burn out your headlamp enclosures. Probably not is my answer. So long as they don't have any built in design faults.

So u reckon, I should be fine fitting them to my cx5. ? (80wkit ) no data sheet to get more info about it
If you're confident buying from the "Guangzhou Wangyi Trading Co. Ltd" which is what your website link says. Not something I would do for the reasons I stated above, but they're unlikely to physically damage your vehicle.
Twenty20 LEDs are very decent, if expensive kit. I've got them in a canbus 2018 Connect. Absolutely perfect beam pattern, the first thing I did when I fitted them was let my tame tester check them. I got them from HIDS4U in Southampton, also available on ebay. Very impressed with the light output.
When I say expensive though, I wasn't kidding. I bought high beam/ running light bulbs, low beam, foglights and sidelights. £260 all in !
