Can anyone help? Reprogramme power steering pump 2012 Mazda3
Discussion
Hello all,
My wife's 2012 Mazda 3 developed a fault last year and the power steering stopped working, I purchased a new pump from Mazda (£1000!!!) and had a local garage fit it. Everything works fine, but the garage didn't have the requisite equipment to turn off the PS warning light, so we just lived with it. The car is due its MOT shortly, so I need the light out. I had the car plugged in at a garage (national chain) today and they tell me the new pump needs reprogramming to the car in order to extinguish the light, they don't have the equipment to do this. I've called a couple of local auto electricians and they say they are unable to help me as they don't have the software. It looks like a Mazda dealer are the only people who will have the software, I suspect they'll charge an arm and a leg and I'm reluctant to give them more of my money after already forking out £1k for the pump. Do any of you know a decent auto electrician in the Liverpool area who could help me out?
TIA
