PWM control for fuel swirl pot lift pump

I have PWM control on the high pressure pump from the swirl pot to the fuel rails and would like to do the same for the lift pump. In this case the input signal will come from a level sensor, the controller running the pump hard if the level falls too low but trimming back when the level is high.

Anyone know of a suitable sensor/controller combination or have any experience of doing similar?
