I know, I know, hardly snap on! However, they are currently selling a full set of swan neck spanners for £4.99! Always found them difficult to get hold of or expensive for some reason and these seem to be reasonable with deep necks and decent looking "grabby bits" laugh and for a fiver seemed mad not to!

I dunno what else they have at the moment and I'd probably stay away from the power tools but I did spot some tin snips in right handed and left handed form which I thought would be good for a bit of two handed Freddie Kruger style metal butchering.

My o/h has a friend in Germany who works as an agent for a big tool importer and they do deals for Lidl/Aldi and manufacturers- she said they're basically the same stuff that comes out of the Chinese factories, just they buy loads in bulk so they can sell them on cheaper- you can see with certain tools (Torque wrenches etc) they're exactly the same as some other well known brands, but since they haven't got 'X' name branded on the box you pay a lot less.
I've got no qualms about buying Lidl/Aldi tools, and have quite a few they get a decent work-out... of course your £29.99 drill isn't going to be on a par with a Makita one, but for DIY use they're really good value.

Picked up a set of the swan neck spanners, if they undo one awkward nut/bolt that I would have struggled with otherwise it's a fiver well spent smile.

I use a pair as 'garage scissors'. Brilliant for cutting through all sorts of 'stuff' that ordinary scissors struggle with such as strapping, cable ties and... well you name it, really. smile

I've got a few Parkside power tools from Lidl that I really like, although I've never had much luck with the Workzone branding from Aldi.

For the money the Parkside gear is really very good! The SDS drill they have on offer from time to time is a tank, it's fairly heavy and when in Chisel mode moves around a bit but it has lasted.

the swan neck spanners are not bad. Decent offset on them.

I have modified a few to make special tools.

They are quite brittle so be careful if bending them, even with heat.

I've found the more recent ones not as good as the old. I had use of a red cased parkside and it takes a hell of a beating, then we got a couple of the later green ones both blew up, but they just refunded without a question, was impressed with that.
