Nissan Primastar odd problem (not starting)

Fired up my van the other day no problem drove up to a junction and pulled out rather enthusiastically as its a busy road, as I went into second the van just went dead. Lights on dash but engine cut, power steering gone etc and wont restart. Got recovered AA man had a quick look we have determined theres fuel getting as far as the filter but it turns and wont start. All fuses checked. Not sure where to go from here?!

Primastar more or less the same van as Renault Trafic and Vx Vivaro, if its got the Renault engine then fair chance its a faulty crank position sensor, very common problem.

did you have any joy in getting to the source of this problem yet.

Yes we tried the cps no joy traced fuel to the pump but nothing out so guessed it was the high pressure pump. As it involved timing belt etc and with no ramp I stuck it into the local garage and they fired a used pump and new timing belt for £350 so not to bad I guess. Runs way better now then when I bought it!
