Not sure if I'm in the right place here but here goes ....,
Bought a welder (migmate 150DP) off the Bay couple of months back. It's been sitting in my shed in the dry since. Got it out yesterday for a little project - all set up and welded ok until I touched the workpiece to alter it's position and got a lovely big electric shock. It's set for gas welding ie torch on + terminal earth on - terminal and it seems that the - terminal is permanently live 240v AC.
So what's gone wrong ? Can it be fixed? If so how much ? Or do I bin it ?
Cheers Ron

I doubt that was 240VAC as you would not put much heat into the work piece, more likely to be 90VDC.

Did you get any instructions with the welder as it could be faulty.

Definitely 240v AC. I measured it. Also hurt like hell when I got a shock. yikes

Personally I would bin it because it's a sip, the fact it's obviously faulty is neither here nor there. Awful awful welders, if you ever do get it working expect to spend half your time buggering about with wire feed problems.
