Angel eyes on with unlock - CORSA C

Okay first of all no hate for the corsa ok guys!

So what I was thinking was having my angel eyes come on when I unlock the car, kinda like welcome lights but just the rings of the angel lights.

I've spent hours online researching and trying to find a way to get this to work but i have no idea how to do it, I've tried running wires from the courtesy light to the angel eyes, but when i ran just the positive wire from courtesy to the rings the rings were always on, even when the courtesy was off. I then tried running the negative wire from the courtesy to rings and that made no difference.

So does anyone have any ideas how I can do it? is there a controller or something out there that can do it for me?

In the first instance you can't just connect them together as, even if it worked as you want it to, what happens when you then turn the lights on? The interior lights will also come on, when you are driving! At night!

You could use a relay wired in so that the interior lights put 12v on the coil & the contacts bring on the angel eyes, but not sure why you would want to, it won't be good for the battery.
