Help with problem on mercedes c class cdi200

My c class cdi 200 diesel auto, year 2005, from pulling away sometimes stutters like its misfiring when trying to accelerate and i have been told its the torque adjuster .Is this the case what it is? and if so how do i sort it? as its been gong on for sometime and is uncomfortable when trying to pull away with the blip or stutter until i have gone up the gears.It does it more after it has warmed up i think.
Can any one give me some idea on what to do or what it would cost to correct the issue
