Just bought a welder for home, a 13amp mig 140 but when I did that thing that no proper man does and read the instructions it says to use a 30amp circuit breaker if welding over 65amps which I'll be more like 100 all the time. Does anyone use these or know anything about this? Thanks Graeme

Just plug it in and use it. You will be able to weld up to 150 amps on a standard 13amp socket outlet. The instructions imply plugging into a ring main, which is 32amp...

^^^ Works for me.
So far I've only ever had the welder cut out due to overheating from continuous use.

A 32A circuit breaker is what backs up most ring mains, so just plug it in and away you go. My big Migatronic machine came with a 13A plug fitted, but it should be on at least a 16A plug. SO far I've yet to blow a fuse though, it just makes the lights flick occasionally when I pull the trigger.

It's usually because on full pelt the inrush current can flick the trip on a standard 13amp circuit.
