Hi,

Car had it's MOT last April and was advised about front and back brake pads and also the front discs.

I left it at the time but looked at the pads and they definitely need replacing now as they're really worn but I'm not sure on the discs, they are lipped a couple of mm but wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea from the pictures below if there's life in them or not? Since getting the pads done I might as well get the discs changed at the same time if needs be.

The car is a 1.6 Astra J SRI 2010 model if that helps.

Thank you.

Measure them. ECP will quote min thickness, they look close to me so you might as well.

As already said, measure the thickness of the discs.
FWIW on our own cars over the years - Peugeot, Ford, Mercedes, Range Rover Classic - I find that its one set of discs every other set of pads.

They look OK to me but the only way to be sure is to measure them. The minimum thickness is often stamped on the rim or on the central bell.

They look ok to me... Measure them as people have said... But apply a bit of common sense... Slightly less than min is still ok in my book.

Just checked on the bay, looks like a complete set front/rear pads and discs just over £70 all in including delivery, prob not even worth the messing around for that sort of money, all new job done.

Lipped a couple of mm and a bit rouged up? I would not hesitate to change them while down there doing the pads anyway.

If theres more than about 1mm of lip then I tend to change them with the pads, especially on mainstream stuff where they are less than £50 a pair.
