Araldite Rapid Steel
Discussion
Has anyone had any success with this? Been trying to join 2 pieces of cast iron together, but Araldite rapid steel does not seem very strong to me, even after much prep. Just tried for the 3rd time, see what it is like in the morning, although i'm not holding too much hope.
I have used jb weld in the past with better success, but I couldn't find it, so thought i'd give this a whirl...

Try Devcon Titanium putty or Belzona 1111.
For any bonding prep is the key, bonding surface must be spotless and that includes any atmospheric oxidation so do a final rub down and clean up/degrease just before bonding.
Consider increasing the surface area of the parts to be bonded (dremel etc. to create grooves) which will strengthen the bond.
Don't expect miracles if the bonding surface area is small, reinforce with extra supporting material bonded over the join (e.g. metal plate).
I've successfully bonded a thin cast engine block flange doing the above with Devcon.
