Passat 2005 rear door won't open
Discussion
Does anyone know how I can get my door open? When I press the key fob all the doors unlock apart from the rear drivers side. The window works so I know there is power there. But no sound from the lock at all. I have checked the connections by the hinge as you can get to them when you open the front door. I can't get the door card off because there is two screws that I can't get to with the door closed.
Will be the actuator.......always seems to be the back doors on the vags......dealers just smash the door card, but it can be done without causing carnage, did an A4 last week, got in to the screws with a short bit and ratchet spanner.....guy was still moaning about an hours labour.....next time, will direct them to Audi.
Now that you are in - Test the circuits while the actuator is working and make a note of what wire does what
Next time the problem arises - Test the circuits and check your findings against your earlier test notes
Anyone posting that you have a faulty actuator is only guessing, dont guess it, test it
I hope this helps

Give it a go. did my mate's Leon last week as it failed MOT on this. Smashed door card off from inside, got a new lock/ actuator from GSF for £45! They said the part didn't exist in the shop, the manager said "I've been here ten years, no way we sell a door lock, dealer part only", but i gave them the part number from the website and then all of a sudden they had one they could get me next day.
VAG dealers parts departments locally wanted £139.
