replacing Mk5 Astra convertible boot strut

Have borrowed a relatives car for a couple of weeks whilst mine is being SORN'd (
). The good lady took it shopping today and the boot lid won't stay open, the drivers side strut looks as though something's leaked (I haven't seen it yet, but guessing hydraulic fluid). New parts (non-OEM) are about £40 which seems reasonable enough.
Anyone changed one/a pair before - am I set for a world of pain trying to change them? Just wondering more if they would be linked to the roof mechanism somehow or whether it would be as simple as two bolts off, two bolts on?
