Cleaning alloy brake caliper

Hi.

I am wanting to clean the back of some calipers that I am re-building.


(not mine)

Its the back part, bare metal that i want to clean up. Is there anything that I can use to clean them at home?

Wire cup brush in an electric drill, and a can of brake cleaner spray I'd say.

Ill try that. I was rather hoping there might be a chemical or similar that i could dip them in.
