Fuel gauge not working
Discussion
The fuel gauge on my car has stopped working and is constantly showing 1/4 full. Internet research suggests that the fuel sender unit is at fault. Is this a reasonable assumption?
If so, how easy would this be to change at home, on the basis that I have a basic tool kit and limited technical ability? I realise that I will be opening the fuel tank and therefore there are risks associated with this, but wanted to know if any specialised tools are required and how easy it is to remove the sender unit.

Its a 2010 Dodge Journey.
I don't think the pointer isn't stuck as when you turn the ignition on all the dials rotate from zero to max and then back to their resting position. The gauge was working as normal until my wife filled it up a few weeks ago and it then didn't register as full.
