Emergency fan/drive belt?
Discussion
Anyone got any advice? Relates to a ride-on mower, but the principle's the same for any motor.
My Ransome, fitted with a 3-cylinder Kubota engine, broke it's alternator/water-pump drive-belt yesterday. Due to the configuration, it's impossible to replace without unbolting the entire engine to move it back an inch to get the belt in place.
Has anyone used any universal cut-to-fit belts, or those emergency ones that Halfords no longer seem to sell? It'll save me many hours of toil if I can find an alternative.
