Micra boot lock issue

We have an odd problem on our 2008 Micra boot lock. The boot lock can be heard 'cycling' on engine start up, it will remain closed if the engine is running, also the boot can be heard to unlock when the steering is in full lock on either left or right lock. Any help would be much appreciated .

Nissan Micras - K12 - used to have an issue with water ingress into the boot lock switch causing them to unlock unexpectedly. But I think that was resolved before MY2008 models. Might be worth dropping in to your local dealer to see if there is a 'known' issue or a campaign to replace the part FOC on a 'complaint' basis.

Micro switch as already mentioned would be your first port of call. They are a really common fault
