Hello, few days ago i replaced brake pads and discs and i did everything exactly as i should like grease clean etc. (this is not the first time am doing something like this)

But for some reason there is a temperature difference between the front rotors (10-15 degrees) is this normal or is it something that i need to worry about? There is no smoke or pulling on one side.

Thanks

Pardon my ignorance but, how did you come to the conclusion that there is a difference in disc temperature?

Infrared thermometer, is it normal for new pads and rotors?

Could be a sticking piston not retracting as fully as the other one when you release the brakes thereby causing slightly more friction on one disc and making it hotter than the other.

i thought about it and it doesn't look like a sticking piston and the calliper slights fine as far as i can see. Also when i am driving i can't hear smell or feel anything different. I tried to jack up the car and spin the wheel and it spins fine. Any suggestions or advices?

I would say 10 - 15 degrees is nothing, it could just be that one side is cooled slightly better.

Now if you had 100 degrees differential I would be looking for mechanical issues.

Give them a week or so to bed in & try again.

you worry too much!
Dont think they would ever be identical temperatures, try a different car to compare.

Drivers side the hotter of the 2 ?
LHD designed car with the fuel tank on the (now it's RHD) drivers side, pluss the driver equalls more energy to displace on that side?
possably a better airflow on the cooler side due to the road (camber kurbs ect) as long as it ulls up straigh i wouldn't worry TBH, IME one side allways wears faster than tother (i change a lot of pads with differing thicknesses from side to side).

Actually is a RHD car but the idea is the same and the tank is on the right as you said.

Good points and thanks for the help

Just out of pure curiosity, why did get the thermometer out to check anyway?! Unless the car didn't pull up in a straight line, this would strike me as being more than a bit OTT.

Because when i first got my new rotors and brakes on, there was a smoke but that was because i didn't use brake cleaner and then i measured the temperature and there was a small difference, but not pulling at all and no smoke any more. It just smoked the first 15 miles after that nothing. Never had any dragging issues or anything.

I think now the temperature started becoming quite the same.
