Another one for MOT testers
Discussion
Are we talking a VAG group car here as mine started doing the same thing on my old A4 after the car had been laid up with the battery disconnected for 6 months..
I did a naughty and took the airbag light bulb out behind the dash ( takes less than 5 minutes) as my MOT was due the following day and it passed...
I did put the bulb straight back in afterwards and waited for a cheap Vagcom lead to arrive (£5) from eBay and reset it using the free version of VAG com lite.
That also only took about 2 minutes and that's coming from someone who's a technophobe with little computer experience and no mechanical skills.. So if it is a VAG motor it's well worth buying a lead..

I'd say so as I do my dash checks as the 1st job
Why would it take 2 mins to go out though, the self test is instant, and surely it's either got a fault, or it hasn't?
I took the cluster out to rectify a problem with the speedo and tacho. It's been like it since. I think I can erase it with the right kit (94 SL Merc) Star won't read it so waiting for a "blink code reader"Why would it take 2 mins to go out though, the self test is instant, and surely it's either got a fault, or it hasn't?
