Hi guys

I've tried the in branded ones from my local factors. I've tried ECP's finest and they are all by and large rubbish!

So, who makes good ones? And where can I find them? I'm an oaf, so need them large and thick. biggrin

How about some proper, non-disposable gloves?

I got some of these - http://www.mechanix.com/automotive/the-original-hi... - from Santa...

This. Latex gloves just fall apart when you get oil (or even wd40) on them.

We use the nitrile ones from Ecp at work but normally under some fingerless gloves as the palms tend to be the first sort to split

I've previously used these, they're cheaper if you're a member...

Oooh nice shout on Costco. I'm a member too! Will get some next visit. 100 of the crappy ones have last me 6 months. So 400 is a couple of years worth!!

OK, Sorry. I didn't mean to offend. I go to Costco regularly and go through nitrile gloves about 100 a month for which I pay about £5 or £6 but never seen these.

They're now on my shopping list.

I've used latex gloves for many years but it's become impossible to find proper tough ones lately, the last box I bought split as you put them on.

Now I use the blue nitrile type, they are way stronger and don't tear as easily on sharp edges, I can often re use a pair of these gloves which appeals to my inner miser.

I'm now a firm convert to dipped PU or nitrile gloves (e.g. like these). They last for ages so the initially higher cost is offset, but still give you plenty of feel, and because the back of the glove is breathable you don't get sweaty hands in warmer weather. They aren't great for full immersion of your hands of course, though you can get fully dipped versions.

I am also a convert. these are great for so many jobs, not just the car. Even working around the house and garden. they are cheap, last ages, keep your hands warm when outside... I have given a few pairs to mates and within a day they were back asking where I got them from.

I've moved over to these, too.

Again, Costco do some very good ones which were about £10-12 for either ten or twelve pairs. They fit perfectly and get used for gardening, diy, working on the car & bike.
