mercedes autobox help

hi all own a Mercedes E320 2002 ,just putting 3rd gearbox in as previous 2 have been in gear but just not moving,if it turns of and waits a while starts and drives again the 1st box had 100k on it the second was second hand from prestige parts in Manchester this lasted 12 months and did exactly the same thing drive a while then nothing at all stop car wait then drive again ,also the box started sounding very whine,y ppl cant believe I had 2 boxes go the same way and say maybe I was just very unlucky ?,we had all the oil checked the box came with torque converter etc ,ran diagnostics when fitted all was well,been to god knows how many garages all took money and all said its the box and torque convertor ,now down to another £400 for second hand box ???

Hi, my Father had problems too, turned out to be speed sensors and an oil leak getting into the gearbox ecu.

they tend to have electrical plate failures, quite common
