Well that's the moral of my story and 'todays have a giggle at a doofus' thread.

You see I had a sticky caliper on my Lancer, sent it off to get fixed and whilst that was being done, decided it was time to put new spanky shiny grooved disks on. Bled the brakes with new fluid to.

All back together but admittedly in a bit of a rush towards the end as I was due to meet friends for a curry and beers.

A few days later I could not figure out why the sound coming from the offside front was like I had no pads left (there is plenty). Real horrid metal on metal. Did about 20 miles popping off to B and Q for some stuff. 20 miles too much.

Pulled off the wheel for a look...

Inside pad in the wrong way round...eekfuriousbanghead

Take your time and do it properly!

Wow!

I put a pad in backwards, but realised immediately. Took me ages to make sure the copper grease was cleaned off of the disc!

I remember doing an oil and filter change on my old TR7, it had the "cartridge in a can" style oil filter. Started it up afterwards and for some reason oil pressure wouldn't come up. After a few seconds I shut the engine off and looked under the car and could see I'd pumped about three litres of oil into the bottom of my mate's mechanics pit. I'd managed to not seat the filter can in the groove properly and it wasn't sealing at all.
