Hi all.Just purchased a 944 s2 which has a couple of niggly probs.Didnt notice when i looked over the car (too busy kicking the tires).heater speed controller only works on number 4.have googled and it appears problem is either resister in heating duct or dirty contacts has anyone come across this.would like to sort out before winter comes.

Not on a 944 but done plenty of heating rsistors, finding it is your biggest problem!
Check the connections for signs of burning but usually its a case of replacing it.

Hi,

On a 968 which should be the same the resistor block is on the top of the blower assembly just in front of the windscreen under the bonnet. It has a series of contacts on it which can be cleaned up by lightly rubbing wet and dry between them. Worked for me.

If its the same it's a simple DIY, a couple of screws and a connector.

It's reasonably obvious - it will of course have electrical cable and a wiring plug going into it, so you are really looking for those.
