Took it out for the first time since last year and was out for an hour and returning home the timing was odd and when I stopped there was black oily water under the car engine and the oil pressure was down. Check the oil and the rad and they were fine. What do think the problem is?

It's a B. if there are no oil leaks under it it has run out of oil. No?

More information please. Where under the car was the leak?

If you are in the AA or RAC call them out, they will find the problem in minutes.

Was the car running OK on the road?

No, the 'timing' was odd.

Thus bimsb6's post.

(If the timing was correct, he'd have caught the fella.)

What's the oil level ?
What's the water level ?
To much oil in the sump, not enough water in the radiator equals head gasket, compression test to confirm

You have an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge on these beasties, which should tell you a lot, but its years since I sold mine so my memory is hazy but find out what normal is and see what your says.

Timing, which i interret as misfire or lack of poke, and low oil pressure could both be due to overheating, what did that gauge read? Was the water level still normal after it had cooled? Any 'mayo' in radiator cap or oil filler cap?
