A couple of years ago I bought some pliers at a tool show, thinking I might use them occasionally... truth is I use them all the time!

Same with the aviation spanners, I find that as I have got older and less strong, there are great as they offer great leverage over the standard length spanner.

So my top five most useful tools are...

Pliers (like in the picture)
Aviation spanners
Swivel head 3/8 drive ratchet
my set of ratchet spanners, particularly the swivel head ones

Lastly, my LED torch. I find I use this instead of a lead light now as its much brighter and the re-chargeable batteries last ages.

A 14x17mm spanner filed out to 9/16" and 11/16".

I need those 2 sizes a lot and it saves carrying 2 spanners.
