Hi there

im new here. I purchased a 2002 Iveco 75E18 horsebox last month and it drives/brakes perfectly however I always have a brake warning light on.

I have been meaning to get it sorted - apparently it could be a simple fix? Sensors etc?

But... I forgot all about it and have gone and booked my lorry driving test for this week in my lorry... now stressing the examiner will notice light and not let me do the test = me losing test fee + time!

any suggestions to get the light off?

all help appreciated!

Also does anyone know where I can find an owners manual for it?

Worn brake pads/broken wire to pad wear indicator?

First things I would check.

Low fluid level or a possible brake pad wear imbalance across axles also a low pad level sensor etc.
In any case brakes are safety critical so best get someone who knows the job to ok it before using the truck in anger.

I have a 75E17 and it drives me mad with random warning lights, a common phenomenon with this range, apparently. The ABS and brake warning lights used to come on regularly. The sensors were all checked and finally the problem was put down to a loose wheel bearing allowing the ABS sensor to move out of range.

However, it still comes on occasionally even though there is no problem. A few weeks ago I drove from Norfolk to Silverstone, about 260 miles total. The ABS Light came on twice in the first 30 miles and hasn't been on since. Stopping and turning off/on cleared the light.

In the last 20 miles of that trip the EDC light came on twice. Both times it went off on its own after a few seconds.

This weekend I've been down to Brands Hatch with it. After 10 miles the EDC came on. Went off after another 5 miles and not seen again. No sign of the brake warning lights this weekend.

I've been told that EDC, in Iveco's case, stands for Extremely Dodgy Circuitry and they often light up like Xmas trees. Only permanent cure is to remove the bulb.

If anyone can shed any light on a real cure I would appreciate it as well as the OP.
