Steering/Stability issues
Discussion
Right let me explain the situation, When we had the snow earlier in the year I was pulling out of a side road downhill and hit a patch of black ice, I was doing no more than 20 and ended up hitting the opposite curb completely side on. Ever since the car hasn't felt right to drive, the back end feels as though it has a mind of its own and just does as it feels. The steering wheel is constantly on half lock to be going straight and anything over 50mph and the steering becomes erratic, pulling to one side.
Shortly after it happened I took the car to a garage who checked the tracking which was fine, and also checked all the bushes and joints which were all fine. So my question is what is a likely cause?

You say you've had the tracking checked, have you had all suspension geometry measurements checked?
You've probably bent something, if you're holding a load of lock on the steering just to go straight, your tyres are probably getting chewed to death also. Go to a suspension alignment specialist (not the usual fast fit places who are usually pretty poor at getting accurate readings), and get a full alignment check done.
