Please Help Combo 1.7 No Pulling Power

I have brought this van and it as no power till i hit 2.5 revs
once its going its great, but if i have to slow down to go around an island (in 2nd) it is so slow and slugish,
If i go up hill too it slugish
Can anyone please help

Turbo problem???

Have you got the NA DI version, we had one at work and was pretty sluggish due to the lack of turbo.

There is no Turbo on this as its a 1.7 cd

Sounds like an air flow meter problem, my 1.7dti was slugish til i replaced it with a bosch one
