I have recently bought a vauxhall combo cdti 1.3 59 plate it has 133000 miles on it and I'm having problems starting it. In the morning I turn the ignition and wait for the coil light to go off then turn it over and it fires up fine and runs fine. But then if I turn it off and leave it for any longer than 10 minutes it takes up to 10 times of trying to turn it over before it starts. Sometimes I keep trying to turn it over and the battery starts to die and have to push start it. Also the other day it completely cut off as I was driving. I tried testing the battery but its fine it tested at 94% so there's nothing wrong with that. Does anyone have any ideas?

You need to get it scanned for codes, sound like it could be a crank shaft sensor fault possibly.

Does it start easy enough when you bump start it? If so it might be a bad earth somewhere that is disturbed when the engine has been run if you understand what i'm getting at.

I've owned three of these vans

The Crank Sensors are ever so common to fail in a bit of a tricky location to access if you looked directly at the Vauxhall Grille Badge and imagined it wasnt there its about half a fist lower down held in with a single torx bolt
