Stuck padlock :(
Discussion
Evening all. I picked up my new bike yesterday and locked it to my ground anchor via an Almax chain and a Squire Stronghold SS50CS closed shackle padlock. It went on and off several times yesterday as I was moving the bike around but when I went to unlock it the morning the lock wouldn't budge. The key wont turn at all. I did a google search and tried all the suggested things aside from a bloody big grinder. Ive flushed the lock with wd40 in case there's dirt inside and have gently inserted the key 30/100 times but nothing, it won't turn. Any ideas how I can get the thing open? I've been at it for almost 2 hours now.
I have emailed Squire and Almax where I bought both from so will probably get a response tomorrow. Just wondered if anyone's encountered anything like this and why it would just freeze up. I've had the lock/chain about 3 years now.

i would suggest old age is the cause
have you tried gently tapping the casing with a small hammer whilst trying to turn the key?
Yes, tried that but nothing. It's 3 years old but looks brand new. Surly shouldn't fail in that space of time. They're supposed to be high quality locks and I think this was about £50-£60 new. It's always been used inside the garage to secure the bike to a ground anchor so its never seen rain, snow, ice or severe weather.have you tried gently tapping the casing with a small hammer whilst trying to turn the key?
