Hydraulic press recommendations
Discussion
I'm looking at purchasing a hydraulic press, but not really sure where to start! Can anyone recommend where I should be looking around the £200 mark? Initially will be used for bush replacement on a couple of my cars front wishbones, but both my father and father-in-law are restoring classics at the moment so there will no doubt be other uses found for it!
Also, how does it work in terms of adaptors in order to press the right areas of the part being fitted? Most pictures seem to show a fairly narrow point on the end of the press, but obviously you couldn't press a bush in via the sleeve suspended in the rubber?

Can't help you with press selection, but in terms of tooling up- a selection of big old sockets and old bearing races is a good start, and some miscellaneous chunks of drift... I've found that I can usually manage with whatever has been left on/around the press by the previous user to be honest!
I have this:

It's about 20 years old now and has been entirely reliable and powerful enouigh for anything I've ever tried to so with it - diff & gearbox bearings, s/frame and arm bushes etc - even those double width hub bearings fall out with little resisitance.
they do the same press in a bench version also if you're space limited.

As does this one but it also comes with an additional 'flat' version - in fact I don't think I've ever used the pointy one.
