Hi im pretty new to this i have a basic astra 2001 1.6 envoy its currently automatic i was wondering can i convert to manual and then install i bigger engine possibly redtop 2.0 16v i wouldnt imagine it would combine with my auto box can anyone help me with some information about this thanks a lot.

Sell it and buy a manual less hassle and cheaper .

Hi I have a 1.6 8valve astra its automatic i was wondering could i put a bigger engine in it possibly a redtop from and old cavalier gsi the car is just a project for me thats why i was wondering should i convert it to manual any answers would be very grateful.

Anyway, to echo everyone else - change the car. Not worth doing an auto -> manual swap unless something is really rare. As for the red top, I'd probably not bother, buy something with more power in the first place - cheaper and easier!

Yes it is possible to fit the C20XE into a mk4 Astra, as previously suggested, visit migweb and the Astra owners club for more info.
