So I replaced the drivers side electric window regulator on my Megane coupe, the motor works, but the glass tries to jump out the frame. I'm too cheap to pay £15 to access the useful areas of the meganesport.net forums (which dont really cover the older meganes anyway) and so was hoping somebody might know some causes and solutions.
One suspected cause is that the window rear guide attached onto the glass has some minor damage on one side.
Then the outer sealing strip is also damaged from where I assume the dealer had a go at removing the window, my gut feeling is that the two were damaged at the same time.
I know my local scrap yard has a spare window and spare outer seals, but I was hoping for a second opinion before I go and buy an entire new window.
Are these two items the only two reasons that a window should 'jump' out of its frame? Or have I missed something?
