Can someone advise on how to find the correct tow ball arm for a Westfalia type 321 330 VW Sharan towing bracket ?.I bought this second hand from a seller minus the tow ball/ arm which is removable. I saw one member had this arm stolen from his wifes Sharan and i have a 1998 Sharan 1.8T I think it wasnt easy to buy just the tow arm
.I hope ive bought the correct tow bar assembly.id like to try and fit it myself but i think it could be a bumper off job and the spare wheel looks like its in the way .I came across fitting instructions on the net but now cant find that infomation again. If anyone knows a You tube help video on fitting to a Sharan i would be grateful ?
I could take the car to a garage and find out if its the correct tow bar for my car , but i still have to work out which arm slots in and if it can be bought somewhere. There is another number on the id plate 7M0 092 155 and its a "Kupplungskugel mit Halterung"

Welcome,
The tow hitch is very unlikely to be of VW origin/manufacture. You've identified it's a 'Westfalia'- have you contacted them yet? Secondly, The car is a few years old now. There will be a damaged one at a dismantlers somewhere which could be liberated of it's tow hitch.
Finally, things like this can be bought used cheaply on eBay. Buy the whole thing if you have to, it'll probably still be cheaper than the new detachable part- and you can delight in the fact that the hard work has already been done (electrics).
Remember the hitch should have a key with it.

Oh and with regard to fitting your own, presumably the electrics have already been done and the holes drilled, so even if you have to buy a complete new assembly it'll be an easy fit. It'll be bumper off and will probably involve removing some interior trim, but even so it's probably a Sunday morning's work.

Yep, it's an original equipment bar supplied by VW but manufactured by westfalia, right? They should be your first point of contact. Truth be told though, the removable bit is generally the expensive bit! If you take the bumper off and poke around the rear/underside of the car the attachment points will probably be quite apparent. Once you've got the right bolts, fitting will probably be fairly straightforward. I expect you'll have to make a cut in the bumper somewhere. Electric kits are often plug 'n play on modern cars- all you have to do is locate the connectors and route the wiring from the hitch into the boot area.
