Dual filament headlight bulbs
Discussion
Thought I'd put this on here to see if anyone has any ideas. A friend of mine has just put angel eyes on his Fiesta and wants to know if there is anything that can be done to get both dipped and main beam working at the same time. Originally the headlight had a single dual filament bulb for main and dipped, so as one went on the other went off. Now the angel eyes are on, it is still turning dipped off when main beam comes on and he wants to change this.
Any ideas? Someone has mentioned diodes but he's not really sure how this would work.

You could bridge the power across from the main beam to the dipped beam via a diode, this would allow the current to travel to the dipped beam when main is selected, but not vice versa. You would need to make sure the main circuit was capable of carrying sufficient current and the fuse was up to the job, or you could wire a supply to the dipped beam via a relay and have the main beam supply trip the relay to supply the dipped beam.
