Locking wheel nuts
Discussion
Anyone out there have any idea how to get a locking wheel nut off. Its one of those with a wiggly racing circuit style groove in the wheel bolt with a matching, mating raised track on the key. I've had it to my local "specialist" wheel nut remover, who has given up! As a last ditch cutting the wheels off would seem to be the only answer....
Find yourself an old deep impact socket that you can hammer onto the locking wheel bolt then get a breaker bar & gently apply pressure. Also at same time get someone with a copper hammer to hit the breaker bar & hopefully the hammer shocks will allow it to come free. this has always worked for me & some of my colleagues but be careful that the socket you use is a really tight fit & does not damage the alloy wheel. Note this will not work with locking wheel bolts that have an outer sleeve that spins freely as the socket will just spin & not undo the bolt.

I watched an AA man do this to my brother's car. It worked a treat. If the nut has a spinning outer then you need to break that off first using a cold chisel.
